Several Benefits of the TENS Units

People around the world take high drug dosage for various body ailments viz. back pain, knee pain, sports injury, etc. Heavy medications are known to cause a wide range of side effects to people. Medicines in longer duration also affect the overall health condition of a person. If you often suffer from body pain and want to avoid intake of heavy drugs, then it is advised to purchase the best TENS unit. You will be able to regulate the level of pain within a matter of seconds plus you don’t have to suffer any side effects.

A brief glimpse of the proper working of the device

Unlike heavy medication for drug relief which uses synthetic compounds, TENS happens to stimulate natural painkillers in the body to relieve the pain. The method is known to increase the level of endorphins in the body which helps the nerve cells to relax and helps the body to get immediate relief from muscle pain.

It is recommended not to use the nerve stimulator device beneath the shower or in a bathtub and also if you have a cut on the skin. Furthermore, you are also advised to clean the surface of the product before using.

Types of transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation devices

Conventional

The frequency of high or regular TENS is around 100 Hz, and the intensity range is about 0 to 30 mA. It works on the principle of presynaptic pain inhibition with the stimulation of A alpha and A beta fibers.

Intense frequency devices

The frequency range is above 100 Hz, and it is advised not to use transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation devices, beyond this range on the patient. It primarily works by blocking the biasing mechanism of the body which helps to provide relief from pain.

Acupuncture

Low frequency transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation devices have a frequency around 4 HZ. They provide relief from pain via the release of opioids which causes sensation inside the spindle fiber of muscles.
