Why Med pay or medical payments is important
Med pay is not a requirement in most states. It is just a supplement to the coverage you already have. The cost is quite small. If you use med pay once in your life, in some cases it has paid for itself. The benefits are paid no matter who was at fault. If you run into the back of someone, and have med pay, you and your passengers are covered. It is a good idea to talk to your insurance agent about this type of coverage. It can cover you medical so you don’t have to.
The cost is very small. In cities with high accidents per year, it is imperative to have it. In some cities, you are prone to have an accident every 4 years. If i have an accident for 4 years, in 20 years i have had 5 accidents. Med pay is a must with odds like these. It does not hurt you to pick up the phone and call your agent. You might be surprised at how little it cost per year. Mine cost me 55 dollars a year for 5000 coverage. More information on med pay can be found here.
